Embodied Faith
A simple way to bring faith, movement, and Scripture together.
What if slowing down your body could help create more space for prayer, reflection and connection with God?
Embodied Faith is a free course designed for Christians who want to explore simple,
practical ways of becoming more present, calm, and open to God.
Learn how to combine gentle movement, breathing, and Scripture reading in ways you can use personally or share with your church community.
We don’t only experience faith with our minds
Our minds can be too busy at times to slow down, be more present to listen and pray.
Why I Turned My Practice Into Purpose
I'm Rie, founder of CrossYoga. It was a path that grew out of a University degree in Social Science, years of theology training, and eventually, over 3,000 hours of teaching yoga.
The more I experienced how movement and stillness could deepen my walk with God, the more I knew this couldn't stay just my own practice.
CrossYoga exists to train those who want to carry that same peace and share it with others, helping people experience God’s peace and love.
My hope is that you’ll walk away from this training changed, and share that change to everyone you teach.

Frequently asked questions
-
Many students start the training mainly to learn more about yoga for themselves, but end up wanting to teach CrossYoga. Doing a little yoga for some months before the training would be beneficial, as you will learn quicker if you are somewhat familiar with the poses.
You don’t need to be a certain body type or in shape to do the training! In fact we LOVE that we all look different, as God created us all uniquely. If you have injuries that prevent you from doing all the poses: don’t worry. There will be students looking for someone to teach them exactly the way you are able to!
-
The 200hr training typically takes around 200 hours to complete, but everyone moves through it differently. Some love digging into the details, while others move faster , especially if you're already familiar with yoga postures and anatomy. To keep everything you've learned fresh, we ask that you complete the training within a year.
-
The CrossYoga 200-Hour Training is for people who feel drawn to explore Christian yoga more deeply, whether that leads to teaching, ministry, personal growth, or simply a deeper understanding of faith and the body.
Once you complete the training, you'll be certified to teach Christian yoga in your own class, a small group, or your local community.
-
The training is for everybody regardless of faith, race, identity or other things that can be used to differentiate us. You’ll learn to be a yoga instructor; this also means that you’ll be qualified* to teach in a “non-Christian studio.”
This training is based on Christian faith and we strive to make everything easy to understand and open to anybody!
Completing the 200 hour training will make you eligible to register as a yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. This is completely optional, but some studios will require this certification to teach.

Participation in all the modules and program items is mandatory on the face to face trainings. Should injuries prevent you, you may sit and listen and instruct while seated.
In addition to the modules, there will be required reading materials in English. The reading can be done before the training starts.
In the Danish training only: It is expected that you do yoga on your own at least once a week during your training. This can be through online instruction or in person. You will evaluate the yoga classes you attend on your own by keeping a journal of your observations that you will share with a CrossYoga teacher.
-
Yes, those who complete the 200-hr program will become a CrossYoga RYT with Yoga Alliance. Our 200 hour training is a registered Yoga Alliance School and is therefore a more extensive training compared to our basic 100 hour Module 1 course.
Those who only complete the 100 hour training (Module 1) will receive a CrossYoga certificate and will have to complete Module 2 in the future to become a Yoga Alliance Instructor.

How Christian is This Training
CrossYoga Academy offers a high-quality training founded in both an academical and Christian mindset. We respect the roots of yoga and acknowledge that yoga has changed a lot since its early start.
As with most Yoga Teacher Trainings you are represented with spirituality so you learn about Christianity and e.g. how to theme a faith-based class. Which is why you don’t have to be Christian to join this training.
We do not take for granted the students that have a Christian faith.
We strive avoid words and phrases that are hard to grasp as we want to respect that we are all on different paths in our lives journey with spirituality.
