Stories From a Retreat Day
I would like to share two glimpses from a previous retreat I hosted together with the Pastor of Ørestad Church last January 2026.
For me, these stories are evidence of God’s faithfulness and I hope it can encourage you the way I was too.
First Story
Picture me sitting in a nice room after having taught a CrossYoga class for 21 participants.
There is 1.5 hours of quiet time, and I have offered to pray for people - for themselves, for family members, or for whatever they would like me to pray for.
A woman enters the room with a nervous smile on her face and sits down on the chair next to me.
She says: “I’m not sure what to do. I’ve not tried this before.”
I tell her what to do, she shares her prayer request, and I rise to lay a hand on her back as I pray.
Tears run down her cheeks as I pray.
After my ‘Amen’, there is silence for a minute,
and she says: “Thank you. That was really great. I needed that. Thank you.”
Second Story
We were creating prayer/meditation bracelets when a woman approached me and showed me a bracelet.
It looked old with the colors of the pearls almost gone.
As it turns out, it was the bracelet she got from the activity we did three years ago.
She shares how this bracelet has been a blessing for her every day since she made it. How it gave her peace and calm when life was hard.
She asked if she could get a new elastic band for it, as she is afraid it will break.
She, of course, got an extra elastic band.
What a beautiful reminder that God can use even the smallest things to bring us peace, comfort, and reminders of His presence.
