5 Lessons I’ve Learned Through Failures

I’ve made many so-called failures in my life and in CrossYoga, and this is what I’ve learned.

1. I needed to redefine failures as learning opportunities.

Failures might hurt my pride or feel like a waste of time or money, but if I learn from them, they are time and money invested in “the school of life.”

2. It might not look like I’ve made failures in CrossYoga, but that’s just because nobody remembers them or cares about them.

To me, they might shout very loudly, but not to other people. Honestly, nobody cares if things do not work out the way I hoped they would.

3. My worth and value does not depend on CrossYoga’s success or failure.

4. Don’t give up.

Just because it did not work this time does not mean it won’t work next time, next year, or in another form.

The first 3 or 4 retreats I did were a financial failure, but because people were blessed and it was so meaningful, I kept pursuing the dream, and now it works.

5)  God’s timing is not always mine!

I always ask God / Jesus for guidance and direction.

I rarely hear a clear “yes” or “no” to all my ideas, so my prayer is always: “God, I want to follow your path. Close or open the doors for this project / idea.”

Sometimes I get so excited about something that I move ahead with it and realize that I did not wait for God’s guidance. Sometimes I move ahead, and God clearly closes the door to a project. I don’t always know why, but I trust that God knows best!

Take a moment to reflect: what have you learned from your latest failure?
